Stonington Police Stress Halloween Safety During Events, Trick-or-Treating this Year
Police are gearing up to ensure a safe and fun Halloween experience for residents this year.

STONINGTON, CT – Police are urging residents to practice safe decisions during quests for candy and fun on Halloween night this year, the Westerly Sun reported.
The department will be adding roving patrols throughout the community as events and trick-or-treating takes place Monday night, according to the Westerly Sun reported. Officers will also be on the lookout for suspicious activity that night, such as vandalism.
Parents and kids are advised to carry a flashlight, stay in a group with an adult and not to wear masks that decrease visibility while crossing the street, the Westerly Sun reported. Children are also advised not to enter a stranger’s car or house, and to let adults check all their candy.
