Always Home's February 7th HEART TO HEART Gala to Prevent Family Homelessness

Always Home’s HEART TO HEART gala is set for Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa. This heart-inspired evening begins at 6 pm and includes a three-course gourmet dinner, auctions of unique items and experiences, and live music for dancing. Being honored at the gala are Susette Tibus of Simply Majestic and Mike Mondello of Mystic Financial Group, LLC for their long-time support of Always Home and the community at large.

The gala is the nonprofit agency’s primary fundraiser for the year and supports Always Home’s mission to Prevent Family Homelessness. “Many families who live and work in our community are just one minor financial crisis away from homelessness,” said Always Home’s Executive Director, Betty Smith. “Yet family homelessness continues to be invisible to most of us. Our Heart to Heart gala theme is about having a candid conversation about this critical, regional issue.”

In the past six months, Always Home has already served 223 families, a 48% increase over the number of families served this same time last year. For these families, help with a month’s rent, a utility bill, child care or a costly car repair is enough to keep them in their homes and out of the emergency shelter system.

“Susette and Mike are enthusiastic and devoted supporters of Always Home,” added Smith. “We’re honoring them for leading with their hearts and making a difference in the lives of so many.” Smith also recognized the contribution of this year’s gala’s Presenting Sponsor, The Whaler’s Inn, and top corporate sponsors, Melinda Elliott Carlisle of Randall, Realtors, Stonington Odd Fellows Lodge #26, Groton Utilities, Mystic Shipyard, The Day, Mohegan Sun, Mystic Aquarium and The Murli Group.

Limited tickets to the event are still available. Individual tickets are $150. For more information and to purchase tickets call (860) 245-0222 or visit www.alwayshome.org
