Woman Killed In Mystic 2-Car Crash: Police
The Thursday afternoon crash that claimed the life of one person happened on Coogan Boulevard near Jerry Brown Road.
MYSTIC, CT — A woman was killed and a man transported to the hospital after a crash on Coogan Boulevard near Jerry Brown Road Thursday, according to Stonington Police Capt. Todd Olson.
Olson told Patch that there was a collision between two vehicles traveling in opposite directions. He said that both were transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital where the woman was pronounced dead.
Olson said that the regional accident reconstruction team that includes Groton Town, Ledyard and Stonington police will determine what occurred.

The Old Mystic Fire Department, Mystic River Ambulance and L+M Ambulance companies responded.
Traffic in the area, home to Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mistick Village, was tied up for several hours.

Due to a serious MVA, Coogan Blvd will be shut between Maritime Dr and Jerry Brown Rd for an extended period of time. Please seek alternate routes.
