The dog was discovered tied to a tree in a park Thursday

SUFFIELD, CT — A dog found abandoned and tied to a tree in a Suffield park Thursday is improving during medical care at an area animal hospital, and the pooch has also been named, animal control officials said.
The dog was located by the Suffield Animal Control division tied to a tree off of a trail in Stony Brook Park, police said.
"Suffield Animal Control is happy to announce that “Brooks” is doing better today after some medical care and TLC at an area animal hospital," officials stated via the Suffield Animal Control Facebook page.

A GoFundMe account has been established to help offset accrying veterinary bills for the neglected male Terrier mix, estimated to be 8 to 11 years old. In its first hour, the account had generated $1,400 of its $6,000 goal.
"If Brooks continues on his bounce-back path of recovery, he will be eligible for adoption in approximately two weeks," officials said.
