Captain of Suffield Police Department Retires
He has dedicated more than a quarter century of service in law enforcement.

SUFFIELD, CT — After a law enforcement career spanning more than a quarter-century, Capt. Christopher McKee has retired from the Suffield Police Department.
A separation agreement dated April 18, 2019, and provided to Patch by Human Resources Director Karin Ziemba, states, "McKee wishes to voluntarily separate from his position as Captain in the Suffield Police Department."
Language in the agreement provides for the town to issue McKee a lump sum of $10,000 in severance pay, covering five weeks based on his $104,000 annual salary. The town also agreed to provide him "a neutral employment reference, confirming job title, dates of employment and compensation."

Both McKee and the town agreed that neither party will not make any negative or adverse comments about each other, either publicly or in social media posts. Police Chief Richard Brown would not disclose any information about the circumstances of McKee's departure, as per the agreement.
"It has been a pleasure serving the residents of the Suffield community," McKee said in a phone interview with Patch.
