Each year Several students of the Suffield Regional Agriscience program attend the largest youth convention of the country, FFA National Convention.
Some students are chapter officers who attend the event each year while other students have been selected by instructors for awards that allow them to attend the convention. Students must maintain academic and FFA chapter eligibility to attend this fantastic event and will be attending leadership workshops, a Garth Brooks concert, and a rodeo just to name a few of the activities. Students will also be participating in community service opportunities, attending CDE competitions, and a nationals ceremony where new National FFA Officers are announced. Zach Duda, the current Connecticut FFA President, is a nomination for the nationals team, making attendance to this convention even more significant for these students.
This event is designed to inspire students, motivate engagement in FFA, highlight and reward skill in agricultural projects and much more. Thank you to the dedicated staff, Director Laura LaFlamme, and all parent volunteers and chaperones of this exciting event. Have fun and safe travels!
