Crash Causes Detours on Route 75 in Suffield

The sole occupant of the vehicle sustained what appears to be minor injuries, including minor lacerations, according to police.

SUFFIELD, CT — A single-car collision into an electrical pole on Route 75 in Suffield has caused police to divert all northbound and southbound traffic.

The sole occupant of the vehicle sustained what appears to be minor injuries, including minor lacerations. He was transported to an area hospital by the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance for care and evaluation, Capt. Christopher McKee said.

Motorists driving between Suffield Street and the Windsor Locks town line are being diverted through a detour route onto Sutula Road and Lafountain Road.

"While this detour route circumvents the collision scene, this area is a small residential area which is becoming heavily congested at this time so please expect delays," police said. "Additionally, this area is not easily managed for tractor trailers and other large sized vehicles."

The road closure is expected to continue well into commuter travel time, police said.
