UPDATE: DEEP Makes Determination About Alligator Found in Suffield
A man who was riding an ATV said he came across a deceased reptile along the Connecticut River in Suffield, near Six Flags New England.

UPDATE, 1:02 p.m.
State Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police investigating a report of a dead alligator in the Connecticut River have determined that the alligator was stuffed, according to DEEP spokesperson Cyndy Chanaca.

SUFFIELD, CT - A dead alligator is reported to have been discovered in the Connecticut River in Suffield, and state environmental officials are investigating the claim, WFSB-TV reported.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) received a report from an eyewitness, Ted Montanez, who said he saw the alligator near the Massachusetts border while riding his ATV.
