Eversource Probing Potential Blizzard Damage in Suffield

Low-flying helicopters are being used to check power lines.

SUFFIELD, CT — Eversource energy on Tuesday began aerial inspections of power lines in Suffield and several other north central and eastern Connecticut towns to asses any damage from last week's blizzard.

The storm dumped more than a foot of snow on the area and featured high winds. Some towns in the area experienced brief power outages during the storm.

Low-flying helicopters are being used to also check for tree limbs or branches that may have broken in the high winds and be in a position to potentially damage a line and cause a power outage, Eversource officials said.
