It was a Fun Filled Evening at the Roaring Acres Alpaca Farm!
The Suffield Parks and Recreation Department's Bowling Buddies had a blast visiting Roaring Acres Alpaca Farm yesterday evening in Suffield.
You could feel the summer in the air as the calendar turned from May to June. The sun just seems a little brighter, the air more fragrant with blooming flowers and the warmer temperatures lifting spirits as parts of the world are slowly beginning to move forward from the global pandemic. The pandemic has postponed so many in person activities and events for all of us, and has impacted everyone's lives so drastically but now as things are starting to improve and there is hope and more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and safely gather following all of the recommended guidelines.
The Suffield Parks and Recreation Bowling Buddies Group visited the very beautiful Roaring Acres Alpaca Farm here in Suffield yesterday on June 1 and had a blast. The Bowling Buddies Group has still been having weekly zoom activities and outdoor exercise events throughout the pandemic but for a few of the participants, this was their first in person event with the group since the start of the pandemic. The incredible Roaring Alpacas farm, which is home to Huacaya and Suri Alpacas, mini horses, goats, Painted Desert Sheep, mini donkeys and a variety of chickens, ducks, and geese, including rare and heritage breeds. In addition, they are the home of Jake's Bees on over 30 acres of farmland. The owners and workers are incredibly friendly and accommodating and the on-site farm store has so many treasures. Alison, Lexi and Joe all gave our group a tour and then showed us how to feed the Alpacas and gave us great info about the all of the animals and farm.
The smiles from the Bowling Buddies group radiated to their eyes as we enjoyed such a fun
evening on the scenic and inviting farm. Visiting so many adorable animals and being able to feed and learn more about them was truly a treat. We also enjoyed checking out all of the terrific products in the Roaring Alpacas on site boutique.

The farm and boutique are located at 685 Hale Street, Suffield CT https://roaringacresalpacas.co... and there was ample parking and access. Many thanks to Roaring Alpacas for hosting such a memorable event for The Suffield Parks and Recreation Department's Bowling Buddies Group.
We are already looking forward to when the Alpacas will be special guests at our summer
camps this year!
