Kent Memorial Library Announces Poetry Contest
The Kent Memorial Library will be accepting applications for its poetry contest March 15 through April 15 in Suffield.
From Kent Memorial Library: April is coming soon. Since it is the poetry month, the Kent Memorial Library will acknowledging it by accepting applications for its poetry contest March 15 through April 15. The library is located at its temporary location, 61 Ffyler Place in Suffield.. The contest is open to residents of Suffield and children who attend the Suffield public school system, but are not residents of the town. Applications can be found on the library’s website.
Poems must be accompanied by the poetry application form. Entries are limited to one original poem per person. The poem can be on any topic. Applicants need to keep a copy of their poem, as the poem will not be returned. The poems must be 50 lines or less and must be typed in a 12-point font. The decision of the judges will be final.
Potentially three prizes will be awarded in each of the five age categories which are:

- Children, 3rd grade to 5th grade
- Teens, 6th to 8th grade
- Teens, 9th to 12th grade
- Adult

- 1st Prize is $25
- 2nd Prize is $10
- 3rd Prize is $5
