Parking Ban Goes Into Effect in Suffield

Vehicles found to be parked in violation and impeding snow removal operations are subject to being towed at the owner's expense.

SUFFIELD, CT — Effective at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the town of Suffield has implemented a winter snowstorm parking ban pursuant to Suffield Town Ordinance.

This ban prohibits vehicles from being parked on all public streets and roads, as well as all private roads where the town of Suffield performs snow removal operations. Vehicles found to be parked in violation and impeding snow removal operations are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense, police said.

"Please help us to help you. By not parking your vehicles on town roadways during this snowstorm, you assist the Suffield Department of Public Works to more efficiently clear our roads, making travel safer. In addition, emergency vehicles such as police, fire, and emergency medical services can respond to emergencies more quickly if parked cars are not impeding the snow covered roads," police said in a written statement.
