Procession For Capitol Police Officer To Pass Through Suffield
The procession for slain Capitol Police Officer Billy Evans will pass through Suffield on Wednesday.

SUFFIELD, CT — The procession for Capitol Police Officer Billy Evans will pass through Suffield on Wednesday, according to a statement from the town. On Wednesday between 5:30 and 6 p.m., Evans' remains will be on a commercial flight into Bradley International Airport.
A procession of law enforcement vehicles, family members, and funeral home personnel will transport the remains to his final resting place in North Adams, MA.
The procession route will pass through Suffield as follows north on Route 75 from Windsor Locks into Suffield, then east on Bridge Street to Route 159 and north on Route 159 to Route 190 east to I-91 north.

Residents who wish to pay their respect to the fallen officer and show their support to his family and loved ones may do so by lining the procession route.
Traffic concerns in Suffield are not anticipated at this time only a minor delay as the procession moves through town, according to the town's statement.

Evans, a father of two who served for 18 years in the U.S. Capitol Police, was killed earlier this month when a driver rammed his vehicle into the north barricade of the Capitol complex. A second Capitol Police officer, Ken Shaver, was injured in the attack and is recovering from his injuries at home, according to the Capitol Police.
The suspect in the April 2 incident, 25-year-old Noah Green, was shot by at least one officer and later died.
