Readers' Choice: Exquisite Designs Best Florist in Suffield

When it comes to deciding where to go for some fresh cut flowers or a special floral arrangement, people in Suffield tend to visit Exquisite Designs to bask in the beauty created by owner and designer Melanie Rutz.

Over the past few days Suffield Patch has asked residents what shop they consider to be the best florist in town and based on and the West Suffield business was identified as they place to go for some brightly colored petals and fresh greens.

While wedding bouquets, table arrangements and special creations that help to celebrate the more somber moments in life are her specialty, Rutz has other talents that have made her a coveted member of the crack floral team that gets to take part in the annual decoration of the White House.

Since 2004, Rutz has thrice served as member of the Christmas Decorating Team at The White House, according to the Exquisite Design website.

But for readers like Stephanie Bartholomew, what makes the shop special are the finishing touches and attention to detail paid to each order.

“Exquisite designs did my wedding flowers and they were the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen. Melanie is a great florist and Very passionate about what she does! I would and do recommend her to anyone in the area!” Bartholomew wrote on Patch.

Reader Tracy Hespelt added that she uses “Exquisite designs for ALL of my flowers! They are always fresh and unique!”

While Exquisite Designs got much of the attention two other local shops deserve to be recognized for their loyalty to their customers and pursuit of floral perfection.

Reader Etienne d’Otreppe shared this comment about Pentimento on South Main Street, “The results of the votes show that Pentimento is a well kept secret in Suffield!”

K & P Flowers and Gifts on East Street South also received several votes in the and should be commended for its work.
