Suffield 2019 Local Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours
Here's what you need to know concerning the 2019 Suffield local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

SUFFIELD, CT — Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Suffield’s municipal election. There are numerous positions up for grabs including, first selectman, town clerk, town council, boards of education, finance, zoning, and police commission.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.
The only candidate for First Selectman is Melissa Mack, a Democrat. Board of Selectmen candidates include: Democrats, Peter Hill and Mel Chafetz, and Republicans, Kathie Harrington, Timothy Reynolds and Jerry Mahoney. Residents will choose any four candidates.

The only Town Clerk candidate is Kathy Dunai, a Democrat. Town Treasurer candidates are Jack Henrie, a Democrat, and Edward G. Mcananey, a Republican.
Board of Finance candidates are: Democrats, Chris Childs, and Ann Huntington Mickelson, and Republican, Eric Harrington. Residents will choose any three candidates.

Board of Finance candidates for a two-year term are: J. Michael Stevens, a Democrat, and Tracy Eccles, a Republican.
The Board of Finance alternate candidates are: Tom Frenaye, a Democrat, and Michael Haines, a Republican.
Board of Education candidates include: Democrats, James Mol, Jamie Drzyzga, and Brian Frey, and Republican candidates include: Scott Lingenfelter, Glenn Gazdik, and Melissa Finnigan. Votes will pick any five candidates.
Board of Assessment Appeals candidates are Roger Ives, a Democrat, and Lisa Anderson, a Republican.
Planning and Zoning Commission candidates include: Democrats, Virginia Bromage and Despina Tartsinis, and Republicans, Donald Rawling and Tracy Hespelt. Voters will picky any three candidates.
Police Commission candidates are: Democrats, Rick Stromoski and Annie Hornish, and Republicans, Kenneth Pascoe, Tony Greco, and Joseph Blake. Voters will choose any three candidates.
Fire Commission candidates are: Democrats, Ed O’Hurley and Jay Caron, and Republican, Paul D. Christian. Voters will choose any three candidates.
Water Pollution Control Authority candidates include: Democrats, Victor Roy and Chris Rago, and Republicans, John P. Murphy, Jeffrey Davis, Frank Bauchiero, and J. Scott Guilmartin.
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to register won't guarantee the ability to vote.
Absentee ballots are also available for those who won't be in town all of election day or for a multitude of other reasons. Voters can also register online prior to the election.
