SUFFIELD, CT – The Town of Suffield today releases an on-line survey to determine resident perceptions of both housing needs and possible strategies looking forward. The survey plays an important step in the process of preparing an Affordable Housing Plan as required by State law. “Planning for Suffield’s future while preserving our town’s beauty, history and agriculture requires the community’s input and thoughtful conversation – to that end, we really need residents to participate in the survey,” said Suffield Director of Planning & Development Bill Hawkins. The survey is available at www.suffieldct.gov until Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Hawkins established a working group to prepare the Plan under the direction of the Planning & Zoning Commission, and with additional members from the Board of Selectmen, Social Services Commission and Housing Authority. The town has hired consulting firm Planimetrics of Simsbury, CT to help guide the planning process. Suffield residents are encouraged to complete the 5-7 minute survey to help ensure that the members understand community goals.
