SUFFIELD, CT — The Board of Selectmen recently approved a measure to provide taxpayers relief via a state tax deferment program. The program provides a three-month grace period to those taxpayers adversely affected by the pandemic.

Typically, this grace period runs from July 1 until Aug. 1, but the tax deferment allows qualifying taxpayers to extend the grace period until Oct. 1. Water Pollution Control Authority fees can be deferred under the program as well, according to a statement from the town.

To qualify, taxpayers must apply by filing a form with the tax collector. The form, issued by the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management, can be found here.
