A voracious reader, Elaine enjoyed reading and was especially fond of mystery novels. For many years, she loved playing cards, cribbage, and mah-jongg with her relatives and friends. A lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, Elaine listened to and later watched most games each season and for many years she enjoyed UConn women’s basketball games.

A proud and hard-working woman, Elaine worked two jobs to support her children. While she came from modest means, she always shared generously with those around her. She was always warm, welcoming, and her home was open to everyone. A humble woman, she was an incredible soul who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Most of all, Elaine felt that her greatest accomplishments in life were her children and grandchildren.
