Suffield Obituary: Scott Merrell, 68

Scott C. Merrell, 68, of West Hartford, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.

Born July 26, 1950 in Hartford, son of Margaret (Cole) Merrell of Suffield and the late Ralph F. Merrell, Jr., he grew up in Suffield before living in East Hartford and then West Hartford. Scott spent his career working as a financial advisor and was currently employed by Merrill Lynch in West Hartford.

He was a parishioner of St. Timothy Church, West Hartford. Scott was a diehard Boston sports fan as well as enjoying most sports, he had a great love to travel and had a passion for film.

Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Eric Merrell of West Hartford; a sister, Elizabeth Deedy and her husband, Ray of Suffield; a granddaughter whom he adored, Isabella; a niece and nephew, Lisa and Michael Deedy.

His family will receive friends Monday, August 6, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018, 11:00 AM, at St. Timothy Church, 1116 N. Main St., West Hartford. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield.
