Suffield Police Welcome Officer Scata
Officer Alexander Scata completed his training at the Connecticut Police Academy and is now Suffield's newest police officer.
From the Suffield Police Department: In a graduation ceremony of pomp and circumstance held at Central Connecticut State University’s Welte Hall on Monday morning, Officer Alexander Scata completed his training at the Connecticut Police Academy and became Suffield’s newest police officer.
Officer Scata was one of the forty-five (45) men and women from police departments across the state that were recognized for their successful completion of an intensive twenty-five (25) week curriculum of academics and practical skills for new police officers. Recruit officers live at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden from Monday through Friday, returning home only on weekends.
Among those presenting remarks to the state’s newest police officers, their families and friends, and police chiefs and commanders were Commissioner Dora B. Schriro of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection as well as Special Agent in Charge Patricia M. Ferrick of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Officer Scata, age 23, is a lifelong resident of Farmington, Connecticut. He holds a bachelor’s of science in Criminal Justice from Mount Ida College, located just outside Boston, Massachusetts.
Officer Scata will be entering the next phase of his training which is a sixteen week Field Training and Evaluation training in which he is partnered with and trained by a core of select Suffield Police Officers who have received advanced training in the disciplines of teaching, human leaning, and evaluating. The Town of Suffield and the Suffield Police Department both congratulates and welcomes our newest addition, Officer Alexander Scata.
