Winter Team State Championship History: Suffield High School

SUFFIELD, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.

To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the eight CIAC winter team titles won by Suffield High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).

• ice hockey (3) - Div. II: 2015*, 2000, 1979
• boys basketball (3) - Class S: 2000, 1985, 1960
• girls indoor track (1) - Class S: 2000
• boys indoor track (1) - Class S: 1999
