Armed Robberies Investigated In Haddam, Nearby Towns
Police say a knife-wielding man robbed several gas stations in the area during the overnight hours.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Connecticut State Police and Middletown Police are investigating at least four separate armed robberies at area gas stations that have occurred in the early morning hours between Aug. 21 and Sept. 5.
The first and second robberies took place on Aug. 21 and Aug. 27, both between midnight and 2 a.m., at the Sunoco Gas Station located at 110 Saybrook Road in Haddam, according to state police. A third robbery took place on Aug. 28 at the Gulf Gas Station located at 339 Main Street in Middletown and a fourth robbery at the Valero Gas Station in Durham took place at about 4:52 a.m. on Sept. 5.
Police said the suspect is a white male wearing a gray or light blue hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and a mask covering his face in all four robberies. The suspect brandished a knife in all four robberies and demanded cash from the register after entering the store. In at least three of the robberies, the man was said to be operating an older model, light-colored Toyota Forerunner, according to police.
