Carl Bushmann won the contest for his picture of Gillette Castle.

A press release from the Regional Tourism District:
An East Haddam, Conn. resident who spent a beautiful fall day taking photos for miles along the Connecticut River is the winner of Central Regional Tourism District’s/CenterofCT.com’s first-ever Fall photo contest. Carl Buschmann’s photo of Gillette Castle in East Haddam was one of more than 150 images entered in the “Fall in CT” Pinterest competition.
“Carl Buschmann’s aerial photograph of historic Gillette Castle, nestled amidst colorful Fall foliage, is a spectacular representation of what makes Connecticut’s River Valley a very popular site for visitors and local residents alike,” explains Anne Orsene, Executive Director of the Central Regional Tourism District. “A pharmaceutical sales director, Carl told us he spent a beautiful Fall day aboard a friend’s plane, taking more than 2,000 photos from East Haddam to Old Saybrook – just for the pleasure of it!
