East Haddam Part of New Four-Town Trail Opening Saturday

The trail will span 14 miles and stretch through four different towns.

A 14-mile trail will open Saturday that will span through the towns of Lyme, East Lyme, East Haddam and Salem, according to The Day.

The Richard H. Goodwin Trail System will connect protected forests and fields in each respective town, according to The Day. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at Chapel Farm Preserve’s western trailhead in East Haddam.

The path comes after four years of work from Eightmile River Wild & Scenic Watershed Coordinating Committee, as well as the four towns and other partners, The Day reported. The trail also crosses the east and west branches of the river.
