First Commercial Gym Opens in Haddam

HADDAM, CT - Haddam’s first commercial gym opened for the public this week, the Middletown Press reported.

Crossfit Ironworks, also known as HK Fitness, launched Wednesday night in Higganum Center, according to the Middletown Press. This new small commercial gym is the first in a town of 7,100 residents.

Prior to HK Fitness’ opening, the town did not have a place to work out within a key 5-mile radius, the Middletown Press reported. That radius is considered an optimum distance for most people looking to work out consistently.
