Haddam Crash Survivor Opens Gym In Middletown
A Haddam cyclist who survived being hit by a car has opened a gym in Middletown.

HADDAM, CT — A Haddam cyclist who survived being hit by a car has opened a gym in Middletown, according to the Middletown Press. The accident occurred two and a half years ago when Robert Hurd, 56, was cycling in the Westfield section of Middletown.
Hurd hit an oncoming vehicle with such great impact that his face had to be entirely reconstructed over the course of two weeks, the Middletown Press reported. After the traumatic experience, Hurd decided to pursue his dream and open a gym.
Go to Fitness Ultimate Training Center opened this month at 1385 Newfield Street in Middletown, according to the Middletown Press. It is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the gym's Facebook page.
