Haddam-Killingworth, Hale Ray High School Runners Qualify for State Open

MANCHESTER, CT — Haddam-Killingworth High School will be represented in both races at the State Open cross country championships this Friday at Wickham Park in Manchester.

At the Class SS meet Saturday, also at Wickham Park, the boys team easily won by compiling 39 points to 99 for runnerup Coventry. Daniel Schumann was the overall race winner, finishing the 3.1 mile course in 16:33. The girls finished second with 78 points, trailing only champion Immaculate's 53.

Hale Ray will be represented by Emily Sienna, who easily won the girls Class S race by 32 seconds over runnerup Sabrina Hanock of Derby.
