Kids' Obstacle Course Returns to Haddam Meadows June 12

Local Girl Scouts Host Return of "Kids Run Amuck" obstacle course filled with tires, tunnels, and more for jumping, running, crawling.

Local sixth grade Girl Scout Troop 60772 is hosting the 2nd annual “Kids Run Amuck!” on Sunday, June 12. This outdoor obstacle course is open to all children from Kindergarten through eighth grade. There are two custom-made courses (roughly 1/2 mile and just over 1 mile) filled with tires, tunnels and other obstacles for kids to jump over, run around and crawl through.

On-site registration begins at 12:15 and the event begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 12th at Haddam Meadows State Park on Route 154 in Haddam. Cost is only $10 if pre-registered and paid before June 1, 2015, or $15 day of the race. All registered racers receive an official racing bib at the start and a medal upon completion. Space for this unique event is limited and free parking is available. Contact jhtassmer@gmail.com to receive a registration form, to volunteer, or for questions.

Girl Scout Troop 60772 created Kids Run Amuck in 2015 to earn its bronze award in community leadership. They wanted to give kids a chance to get dirty and have fun outdoors with friends, neighbors, and family. Proceeds support the troop.
