NJ Man Accused Of Trying To Cash Fake Check In Haddam: Report

State police said a New Jersey man is accused of attempting to cash a fake check​ at a bank in Haddam.

HADDAM, CT – State police said a New Jersey man is accused of attempting to cash a fake check at a Citizens Bank in Haddam on Oct. 11, the Middletown Press reported. The check was made out to the accused in the amount of $6,110.40, police said.

According to the Middletown Press, police said Steve O. Jones Jr., 25, of Bayonne, N.J., said he was given the check as payment for work conducted through Craigslist. Police said the accused was arrested at the scene, and officers are currently investigating to identify other suspects who may be involved in the case.
