Albert proudly served his country in the US Army from 1946 to 1948 during the Korean occupation after World War II, in the 20th Infantry Regiment attached to the 6th Division. He worked for the Town of Killingworth for many years at the Transfer station and lived at Jensen Park.

Albert enjoyed building model airplanes and reading books on aviation. One of the greatest thrills of his life was an invitation from a pilot friend to Westover Air Force base and the opportunity to sit in cockpit of C-5 Galaxy, one of the largest aircraft in the world.
