Obituary: ​Catharine Bancroft Sloan, 84, Of East Haddam

Catharine Bancroft Sloan, former longtime resident of Old Greenwich, most currently of East Haddam, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2017.

Cathy was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from Wayland Academy in Wisconsin and Pembroke College (Brown University class of ‘54). She and her husband David were married in Washington, D.C. in 1956. They moved to Old Greenwich in 1963 where Cathy was a member of the Jr. League of Greenwich, the Old Greenwich Garden Club and Rocky Point Club.

She worked as a dental assistant for many years for Doctor D. Milton in Old Greenwich. Cathy will be remembered as a patient and kind woman, who loved animals, travel, music, and most of all, her family.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, David, her son David, his wife Sandy and their daughters Eleanor and Caroline as well as her daughter Sue (Fitzpatrick) and her husband Kevin. Burial is private.
