Obituary: Elizabeth A. (Wichowski) Glynn, 48, of Killingworth

Elizabeth fought a courageous battle against cancer with dignity and grace and all the while her mother was by her side.

Elizabeth Aleksandra (Wichowski) Glynn, 48, of Killingworth, CT., beloved mother, of Aleksandra, and Nicholas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Monday, August 1, 2017, after a valiant battle against cancer.

Elizabeth, known as “Ela” to her family and friends was born in New Haven, Ct., May 21, 1969, the loving daughter of Stanislaw Wichowski and Marianna (Piorkowski) Wichowski of Madison and was raised in Wallingford. A graduate of The University of Connecticut, Ela earned a BA degree and went on to work in the mortgage industry.

Elizabeth was an amazing human being, thoughtful, steady, wise and above all else, loving. She enjoyed reading, music, the beach, and her family and friends. She represented the type of person many aspire to be. Elizabeth fought a courageous battle against cancer with dignity and grace and all the while her mother was by her side.

In addition to her parents, Ela is survived by two beautiful children, Aleksandra 18, and Nicholas, 13, whom she adored. She is also survived her brother Michael Wichowski and his wife Dominika, and their son Matthew; her former husband Daniel Glynn; as well as many aunts; uncles; and cousins in the United States and Poland.

Ela’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Glynn Children’s Education Fund, c/o Michael S. Wichowski, 161 Marlborough Street, Newington, CT 06111.
