Obituary: Joseph J. Parkos Jr., 69, Of East Haddam

EAST HADDAM, CT - Joseph J. Parkos Jr., 69, of East Haddam, beloved husband of Sharon (Munzing) Parkos, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Middlesex Hospital.

Joe was born in Middletown, son of the late Joseph J. Parkos Sr. and Claire (Saucier) Parkos. Joe was employed as a staff engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Navy. Joe loved gardening, fishing and spending time with his family. He was an amateur Archeologist and a member of the Archeological Society of Conn. Joe was a member of the French Canadian Genealogical Society of Conn. His passion was showing his classic Mustangs at car shows. He belonged to the South Eastern Conn. Mustang Club.

Joe was a loving husband, father, brother, loyal friend and is survived by a daughter Rebecca Parkos of East Haddam, a son Joseph Parkos and his wife Susan Gallo of Urbana, Il, a brother, Arthur Parkos and his wife Mari Paz of Southbury, a sister, Carolyn Parkos of East Haddam a grandson, Brock Gallo-Parkos, nieces Alexia and Karina Parkos, also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great friends. Joe is also survived by his beloved dogs, Blue, Salchicha, Ravie, and his special buddy Rags.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Bridget of Kildare Church, 75 Moodus Leesville Road, Moodus.
