Obituary: Lori Anne Dickey, 55, of East Haddam

EAST HADDAM, CT - (From Biega Funeral Home) Lori Anne Dickey, 55, of East Haddam, loving wife to William Dickey and mother to Jordyn Dickey, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in her home.

She was born in Meriden, the daughter of Elaine (Pegg) Mierz and Thomas Mierz and his late wife, Kathy Mierz. She graduated from Middletown High School before attending cosmetology school. She later opened Silhouettes Hair Salon in Old Saybrook, which she operated for over thirty years. When not working, she loved to travel or spend time with her family, including her dogs Fendi and Louie.

Lori is predeceased by her sister Deborah Lynne Mierz, who she will reunite with soon. Lori is survived by her husband William J. Dickey of East Haddam; son, Jordyn W. Dickey of East Haddam; sister, Tamara Shearin of Lakeland, FL; brothers, Bryan Mierz of Clearwater, FL and Christopher Mims of Middletown; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Lori’s family is grateful for the care, compassion, and tireless work offered by the Hospice staff over the years.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday (Sept. 23rd) at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown on Tuesday (Sept. 22nd) from 5 to 7 p.m. to pay their respects. Lori’s family has requested that masks and social distancing be adhered to during all services. Those who wish may send memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
