Hanley was born in Norwich and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Navy.

Scott Hanley, 69, of Dunnellon, Florida, formally of Higganum, beloved fiancé of Judy Bailey, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 26, 2016, in his home.
He was born in Norwich and was the son of the late Charles and Barbara (Taylor). Scott was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement, Scott was employed with Aerospace Techniques for over 30 years. He was a member of the CT Retreads and an avid motorcyclist and boater.
Scott is survived by daughters Michelle Kowal and her husband Walter of Higganum, sons Charlie and John; Joanne Dixon and her husband Allen of Powhatan, VA, and son Walker; Brenda Hanley and husband Terry Rawls of Middletown, sons Terry, Alex, Darius, and Jared; Michelle Espinosa of Newington, daughters Alysa and Brittany; Leann Malone and her husband Anthony, son Brandon and daughter Taylor. Scott also leaves behind in laws Mary and Douglas Pierce of Higganum, Kathy and John Oktavec of Lorton, VA, and Robert and Heather Arrigoni of Haddam as well as several nieces and nephews. Scott was predeceased by his wife Linda (Arrigoni) and brother Christopher.
A memorial service will be held Sunday (June 5th) at 5:30 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of his family. Friends may visit with his family at Biega Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 to 5:30 p.m. prior to the service. Donations in Scott’s memory may be made to Haddam Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
