Plane Crashes At East Haddam Airport; No Injuries

No injuries were reported after the Saturday morning plane crash.

EAST HADDAM, CT — A plane crashed as it attempted to take off from Goodspeed Airport in East Haddam Saturday morning, according to police.

Connecticut State Police said that neither the pilot nor the passenger were injured in the crash that occurred around 10:30 a.m.

The plane crashed downward after the attempted takeoff, went off the runway and came to a rest in a field about 95 feet away.

The FAA has been notified.

"The landing gear of a Jihlavan Airplanes SRO KP5 aircraft separated from the aircraft as it attempted to depart from a grass area at Goodspeed Airport in East Hassan, Conn. about 10 a.m. today," the FAA said in a statement.
