Sunflower Gathering in Killingworth Taking Place in September

How does your sunflower garden grow? Sunflower seed packets are now available for Killingworth's sunflower planting spree.

The sunflower packets have arrived! Participate in the Killingworth Foundation's sunflower project by picking up a packet of seeds, tending your garden and bringing the fruits of your labor to Parmelee Farm on Saturday, September 10, for ribbons and fun.

All entries must be submitted to the Gathering between 10 and 11 a.m. on the day of the event. The Killingworth Farmers' Market will take place on the same day.

In May and June, free seeds will be available at the Town Office Building, 323 Route 81, Killingworth, and the Killingworth Library, 301 Route 81.

Prizes will be awarded in several categories:

  • Tallest
  • Widest Seed Head
  • Arrangement of Cut Flowers
  • Artistic Representations for Children, Adult, Business, Non-Profit, School Entries
