UPDATE: 3 Injured In Rogers Lake Trail Attack: State Police
State police said an arrest is likely after three were injured in an attack with a shovel and knife in Old Lyme.
OLD LYME, CT — State police say three were injured in a Fourth of July attack in Old Lyme.
According to Troop F, police got “multiple 911 calls regarding a physical altercation between multiple people in front of a residence on Rogers Lake Rd in Old
Lyme. Troopers from Troop F and Old Lyme Police Responded to the area and found a female with an abdominal wound, reportedly from a knife. A male was located, unconscious, with a head wound in this area. The head wound was reportedly caused by being struck by a shovel. Both parties were transported by ambulance to Hospitals. A third party (male) involved in the altercation had left the scene prior to police arrival. He was reported to be injured in the altercation and a search of the area was conducted utilizing a K9 and multiple
Troopers/Officers. This party was later located and determined to have two wounds, that he reported were knife wounds, and a facial injury from being struck. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Both injured males were treated and released, while the female party is listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Evidence at the scene was seized and witnesses were identified. This altercation remains under investigation as additional information is being obtained. Charges are expected to be filed in the near future.

According to a Connecticut State Police, at around 8:15 p.m., troopers were called to a "disturbance," in Old Lyme.
Trooper Christine Jeltema told Patch two people had been assaulted. She said how badly they were hurt is "unknown."
But, it was reported that the attack resulted in three being injured. And that the weapon may have been a shovel, though initial reports described a knife, according to media tweets and emergency radio. This has not been confirmed yet by state police.
It's reported LifeStar was requested to transport victims.
