East Lyme Catcher Has Physical Confrontation With Umpire: Report

An East Lyme High School catcher was ejected from a game after a confrontation with the home plate umpire.

EAST LYME, CT — An East Lyme High School player was sent home during a game at Bacon Academy after a physical confrontation with the home plate umpire, according to The New London Day. Senior catcher Harley Perreno began questioning umpire Brian King's strike zone.

King issued a warning that went unheeded, then ejected Perreno. Perreno then put his hands on King and knocked him to the ground, according to The New London Day.

A school official said they are currently investigating the incident.
