Groton Man Charged With Fleeing From Police
A Groton man is facing charges that he attempted to flee East Lyme police on multiple occasions.
GROTON, CT — East Lyme police arrested a man wanted on a warrant Monday. Jason Carson, 34, of 25 Midway Oval, Groton, was charged with interfering with police, engaging an officer in pursuit, and failure to appear.
Police were called to the Motel 6 in East Lyme Dec. 16. Police said they attempted to arrest Carson on a warrant but he fled on foot, then entered a parked vehicle and left.
In a second incident, police were conducting a drug-related investigation at the Starlite Inn. Officers attempted to stop Carson, who was in a vehicle fleeing the area. Due to safety concerns the pursuit was terminated.

Investigation determined that Carson was driving the vehicle. Police obtained arrest warrants for both cases.
Carson was then involved in an incident in Plainville Monday, which led to his arrest after trying to flee. He was turned over to the custody of the East Lyme police and arrested.
