Hot, Dry Conditions Prompt Advisory From East Lyme Public Safety

The department is warning residents to be careful of fires.

EAST LYME, CT — With hot, dry and windy weather conditions forecast for the Lymes and the rest of Connecticut the next couple of days, the East Lyme Public Safety department is warning residents to be particularly careful of forest fires.

"Connecticut traditionally experiences high forest fire danger in the Spring from mid-March through May," wrote public safety officials in a Facebook post. "[CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection's] Division of Forestry constantly monitors the danger of forest fire to help protect Connecticut's 1.8 million acres of forested land."

As such, DEEP has set the current forest fire danger level at HIGH.
