Local Roads to be Impacted by O’Niantic 5K

The Hartford Marathon Foundation will produce the O’Niantic 5K on Saturday, March 21, in the community of Niantic. With approximately 1,200 athletes expected to participate in the event, please be aware of traffic impact and limited road closures affecting the area from 7:00 am until 11:00 am.

The following areas and streets will be used for the race. Roads will reopen as runners pass. Please expect minor delays and detours:

· Methodist Street CLOSED: 7:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.

· Hope Street (Methodist St – Lake Ave) 8:45 A.M. – 10:45 A.M.

· Lake Avenue (Hope St – Lake Ave Extension) 8:45 A.M. – 9:15 A.M.

· Lake Avenue Extension 8:45 A.M. – 9:15 A.M.

· Meadow Street 8:45 A.M. – 9:15 A.M.

· Hope Street (Methodist St – Pennsylvania Ave) 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· Pennsylvania Avenue (Smith St – Grand St) 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· Grand Street 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· Smith Avenue 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· Smith Street 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· Pine Grove Road 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· South Street 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· Cherry Street 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· North Main Street 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· Broadway 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

· Center Street 9:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

The Hartford Marathon Foundation makes every effort to minimize the impact of the race on local roads and neighborhoods while bringing participants in to enjoy the Niantic community. Please seek alternate routes during the race if impacted. A detailed course map is also available here.
