Man Injured In East Lyme Scooter Accident
A man suffered a head injury in a scooter crash late Monday night.
EAST LYME, CT — A 38-year-old man was injured in a scooter accident in East Lyme late Monday night, according to police. Police received a 911 call at 11:57 p.m. regarding a crash involving a scooter on East Pattagansett Road near the Union Cemetery.
East Lyme police officers, along with the Niantic Fire Department, responded to find a lone 38-year-old man unconscious as a result of the accident.
An initial investigation and witness statements showed that the man was riding a Vespa scooter southbound on East Pattagansett when it left the road, causing the man to strike his head on the ground.

He was transported to the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, then transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation by the East Lyme Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Brianna Forbes at 860-739-5900.
