Old Lyme Man, 28, A Sex Offender, Charged With Rape
Anthony Lacoursiere was arrested by state police and charged with rape and kidnapping. He has previous sex crimes convictions.

OLD LYME, CT —State police have arrested and charged Anthony Lacoursiere, 28, with rape, kidnapping and numerous other charges in connection with an attack earlier this month.
Police said in a press release that on Saturday, Jan. 4, the Town of Old Lyme Police Department began an investigation into an assault that happened in their town from Jan. 1 through Jan. 2. Police said during the course of the investigation, they learned the victim was both physically and sexually assaulted by Lacoursiere.
The case was then reassigned to the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad. Investigators got an arrest warrant signed by the State’s Attorneys’ Office in New London.

Police said Lacoursiere was arrested at his home at 314 Canty Lane in Old Lyme on Friday Jan. 10.
He was charged with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree kidnapping, first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening, and third-degree assault.

Lacoursiere was given a $500,000 surety bond, police said, adding he was unable to post that bail and was taken to Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Uncasville. He's due on court in New London Jan. 13.
Lacoursiere was convicted in 2012 of the sexual assault of a minor child and was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison but was released in February of 2015 after serving less than three years.
In 2011, he was convicted of carrying a dangerous weapon and of third-degree sexual assault, court records show.
