Old Lyme Man Charged With Witness Tampering: Police

An Old Lyme man previously arrested on sexual assault charges has been arrested for witness tampering.

OLD LYME, CT — An Old Lyme man currently in a correctional facility on rape charges has been arrested on allegations that he attempted to get the victim to recant her initial complaint, according to police. Anthony Lacoursiere, 28, was charged with witness tampering and violation of a protective order.

He continues to be in the custody of the Department of Corrections and his bond was set at $50,000.

Lacoursiere was initially arrested Jan. 10 on rape, kidnapping, and numerous other charges. Police said he was under phone/mail review and recorded him conspiring with others to get the victim in the case to withdraw her complaint against him.

Lacoursiere has previous arrests for sex crimes. He was convicted in 2012 of the sexual assault of a minor child and was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison but was released in February of 2015 after serving less than three years.

In 2011, he was convicted of carrying a dangerous weapon and of third-degree sexual assault, court records show.
