School District Rescinds Resignation Request For Football Coach

OLD LYME, CT — The Region 4 school district has rescinded a request for the resignation of Valley Regional/Old Lyme football coach Tim King's resignation, according to Gametime CT. King had been asked to resign or face termination Friday for his alleged role in an independent football team comprised of Valley Regional students.

A rally was held in support of King and a petition defending him solicited nearly 3,000 signatures. A joint statement was released by Superintendent Brian J. White and King after the two sides came to an understanding.
