State Police Looking Hit & Run Tractor Trailer Crash Witnesses

Just before sunrise on I-95, a semi switching lanes struck a car. But it fled as four other vehicles and another tractor-trailer collided.

EAST LYME, CT — A tractor trailer cause a seven-vehicle accident just before 6 a.m. Thursday and took off. State police are looking for witnesses.

According to Connecticut State Police Troop E, while traveling on I-95 southbound in East Lyme, a tractor-trailer changed lanes from the right to left and "merged" into a vehicle and "became disabled," and, as the semi fled the scene, five other vehicles including another tractor trailer "collided with each other."

Police are hoping that anyone who witnessed the accident or may have additional information contacts Trooper Lovell at Troop E at 860-848-6500 referencing case number 2000080599.

State police were assisted by Waterford and East Lyme/Flanders E.M.S., Firmin's Garage, Guy's Oil Service Station, and the Connecticut Department of Transportation State Farm Service Patrol.
