EAST LYME, CT — A wi-fi switch device - that allows people to turn on lights wirelessly using a smart phone app - is being recalled because it has been deemed a fire hazard, according to the East Lyme Public Safety Department.
In a post on the department's Facebook page, officials said the WiOn wi-fi switch by Southwire has been sold at various home improvement and hardware stores, in addition to Amazon and Walmart.
According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, the in-wall device "can overheat posing a fire hazard."
