Winter Team State Championship History: East Lyme, Old Lyme

EAST LYME-OLD LYME, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway in Connecticut Monday (girls basketball, ice hockey and wrestling) and Thursday (boys basketball, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a league championship, and possibly a state title.

To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the eight CIAC winter team titles won by East Lyme and Old Lyme high schools in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).

East Lyme

• girls indoor track (3) - Class L: 2008, 2007; State Open: 2001
• boys ice hockey (1) - Div. III: 2018*
• boys indoor track (1) - Class S: 1994

Old Lyme

• girls basketball (2) - Class S: 2009, 1997
• girls gymnastics (1) - Class S: 2006
