The oldest house for sale in Trumbull predates the United States itself.

The house, located at 5244 Madison Ave. is the oldest on the market in town, according to Zillow.com. It was built in the 1750’s

It was known as the mansion house at the time. These days the asking price is a modest $339,000.

Since then, it’s been renovated, but with the goal of keeping as much old-world charm as possible.

There is still original flooring in the second floor hallway.

There are four fireplaces, four bedrooms and two baths. We’re assuming the out house no longer exists.
